Marriage-preparation and marital-counselling tools for professionals have been offered by Enrich Canada since 1986.
Our relationship questionnaires and counsellor-training materials were first created in 1980, from research done at the University of Minnesota by Dr. David Olson, PhD, and several colleagues. Dr. Olson is a licensed psychologist who is now a Professor Emeritus of Family Social Science at the university. He developed the couple-compatibility tests (which he called couple inventories), under the trade name PREPARE/ENRICH.
Around the world, more than three million couples have completed a PREPARE/ENRICH inventory, in order to learn more about their relationship’s strengths and to identify areas for growth. There are more than 8,000 trained PREPARE/ENRICH counsellors in Canada, and thousands of others worldwide.
Our approach to marriage-preparation counselling
All PREPARE/ENRICH premarital- and marital counselling tools are designed to be useful for couples at any age and stage of their relationship, including dating, cohabitating, premarital, and married couples. The programs help couples identify their major stressors, and develop their communication and conflict-resolution skills.
PREPARE/ENRICH relationship-assessment tools reflect new and ongoing research and are improved and updated regularly.
